drug toxicity and liver

All chemicals drugs synthetic drugs we ingest are highly toxic in nature. Had there been no liver in man he could not have ingested any drug or chemical. Liver is main organ in which drugs are metabolized and consequently is important in determining the effects of drugs in our body. Liver plays the central role in metabolizing the large number of organic and inorganic chemicals synthetic drugs and drugs which gain access to our body by way of ingestion, inhalation, and injection or via intestine tract. The drug industry, pharmaceutical industry in connivance with non religious doctors is bombarding our system with with unwanted chemicals. The main drug metabolizing system is located in the smooth endoplasmic reticulum of live cells. The conversion or metabolism of toxic drugs and chemicals is mediated by a group of mixed function oxidase enzymes; the known best enzyme is cytochromeP450 that is located in smooth endoplasmic reticulum of liver cells

.

Hepatic drug metabolism involves the conversion of fat soluble (non polar) drugs in water soluble (polar) metabolites which can be excreted by bile or urine. The large molecules are excreted by bile and small molecules by water. The rate at which drugs are metabolized by the mixed function oxidase enzymes varies in relation to genetic factors, induction or inhibition of enzymes, nutritional factors and the number of drugs administered simultaneously. Nutritional factors are of determing nature as malnutrition reduces enzyme activity and reduces the rate of drug metabolism. The drug factor is no less significant. Drugs can increase enzyme activity (enzyme induction) or inhibit enzyme activity in the liver and they can alter the rate of drug metabolism significantly. Drugs such as alcohol, ethanol,, barbiturates, carbamazepine, griseofluvin increase the enzyme activity. The alcoholic who abuses drugs can suffer from increased liver damage because alcohol increases the activity of drug metabolizing enzyme

The iatrogenic effects of chemicals and drugs are well known. Heptotoxicity from chemicals and drugs is commonest form of iatrogenic diseases. Toxic liver injury caused by drugs and chemicals may virtually mimic any form of naturally occurring liver disease. Any patient with languor, loss of hunger and anorexia, jaundice must be questioned for history of drug intake or exposure to chemicals. If one continues to take the drug even after the severe adverse effects cropped up, the severity of Heptotoxicity may increase tremendously. Various known Heptotoxicity producing inorganic compounds are arsenic, phosphorous, mercury, lead, copper, zinc, and iron etc the organic compounds include pyrrolizidine alkaloids., cytotoxins, and bacterial toxins. The synthetic group contains large number of medicinal agents that has become fashion with people.. The side effects of chemotherapeutic drugs used to combat cancer are well known and need no mention. There are numerous cases of homicidal, accidental and suicidal ingestion of chemical compounds also. What a wonderful organ the liver is to combat the adverse effects of drugs and chemicals!

No drug or chemical is safe as it is toxic to liver cells and it lowers the immunity of human body by attacking the immune defense mechanism of body. Friends, make very little and judicious use of chemical and synthetic drugs. Return to nature for health and immunity saying good by to chemicals and synthetic drugs. Liver is vital organ of our body. Do not kill and injure it with chemicals and drugs. .

I usually have a reaction to prescribed drugs so use alternative medication instead. I have had better health by doing so.
