man under narcotic effect is wild beast
To relieve the stresses and tensions created by modern age of technology and contradictions/ paradoxes and heightened sense of competitiveness, ambitiousness and lasciviousness the use of narcotics/ intoxicants/ chemicals have increased tremendously. Man has started to use more and more of these substances/chemicals even than he consumes oxygen from the air or minerals from the diet. The combined and cumulative effect of all these categories is costing the modern man of his sublime sense, health and well being of his overall life or his capacity to dive into higher realms of his being.
All these anti consciousness substances by checking the progression of consciousness reduce him to stone level consciousness or the state of stupor or coma. Stupor or com is the state of human body and mind in which the outward consciousnesses or impressionistic consciousness is completely lost and destroyed.. The five human senses in this stupor stage become totally blunted and immune to external stimuli like light, heat, pain or touch. The pupil of the eye becomes pin point and is totally insensitive to light. Eyes become half open and breathing becomes torturous and snoring. The lower jaw starts hanging down. This is the paralytic condition of whole nervous system of a man. These chemicals and intoxicants block the ways to higher levels of human consciousness from the “animalistic and instinctive” level of consciousnesses. Man’s progressive journey to transcendence is not only retarded but takes the negative u turn.
Man‘s consciousness starts degenerating into toxyfying state of stoneness. None is feeling the so derogatory and deleterious effect of chemicals on human body and consciousness. The degeneration starts not only at psychological level of consciousness but on all levels like economic, social, cultural and sexual. Under the deep “consciousness depressing” effect of narcotics man is indeed becoming” uncontrolled impulsive wild animal” guided only by his lower animal instincts of sex and hunger. The transcendence of his lower self into highly developed cultural and civilized social level has taken the back seat. Of all the major and prominent concerns of man the drug abuse is the greatest concern for enlightened person of every society. Under the depressing effects of this phenomenon man is becoming impotent and infertile. only the potent man has the potential and ability to transcend his consciousness into unknown levels of mystery and mystic experience.
There is multi phage effect of degeneration of chemicals of “consciousness depressing” and “depletion and erosion of consciousness” on man’s consciousness. But the two directions of this degenerative process are very prominent. Under the combined and cumulative impact of these harmful substances either man’s consciousness is becoming stony hard transferring into cruelty, injustice, selfishness, stubbornness with sadistic tendencies or it is being dissolved in narcotics and chemicals. The enhanced sale and use of liquor in society is doing the second effect of dissolving the human consciousness in alcoholism. More and more men and women are becoming dipsomaniac. Cruelty, injustice, selfishness, nervousness, neurotic anxiety, ego-ridden, quarrelsomeness, lasciviousness, lewdness, adultery, impulsiveness, hurriedness, impatience, greediness, restlessness, fidgetiness are the putrefying signs of this degenerative social process of man’s psyche and consciousness.
The ill and injurious effects of intoxicants have been demonstrated and highly highlighted in research studies and a lot of material is present to study and analyze these effects but as far as psychological aspect is concerned the problem has not been addressed so eagerly as it demands immediate attention. Not only sedatives and tranquilizers but all these substances and chemicals have anesthetic and numbing effect on mind, nervous system and consciousness. All these depress, delete and deplete the higher faculties of man. Man’s most distinguishing and departing feature from plant and animal life, are his highly developed faculties and consciousness. Man has many means and tools at his command like meditation, devotion and yoga to further develop his mental faculties in to ES. and clairvoyance. Man has the ability and feathers to fly into sky of mystery and abstraction.
Man has ability to transcend his awakening to higher levels of consciousness. The plant and animal life totally lack this ability .The effect of intoxicants mostly resembles anesthesia. Torald sole man in his book” manual of pharmacology “has beautifully described the depressing effect of intoxicants and chemicals on the central nervous system as below
:
“It depresses the central nervous system, especially the higher functions. It stimulates chiefly by lowering the normal restraining functions---resulting in euphoria, comfort and enjoyment to elation and vivacity; than downward through loquacity, garrulity, emotionalism, either affectionate or quarrelsome or both to violence, then hebetude, stupor and finally coma.”
The end result of all consciousness killing or numbing substances is the state of coma, stupor or syncope. These kill the awareness of man about himself about society and about nature. The depressed consciousness gives birth to, too many social crimes and social criminal mentality. It is a fact that man under the influence of liquor or other intoxicants tends towards sex indulgence, violence, aggression and destruction. The entire intoxicants work on the central nervous system adversely with polarity of symptoms. The excitability and ecstasy, euphoria, vivacity with lowered inhibition is quickly followed by total indifference stupor and exhaustion
Emotionally , the loss of inhibition , moral and ethical sense and the sense of religiosity makes the man easily excited , vivacious enthusiastic and his ascendance of his self into animalistic and wildness with more indiscriminate impulses of self destruction or destruction of society and its revealing principle, norms ,and regulations . Lascivious behavior, seeking to gratify his instincts no matter on whom, erotic mania, sex excitement and shamelessness is resulting into many fold rise in social crimes. The alarming rise in rape cases on minor girls is the direct outcome of the depressing effect of the narcotics and intoxicants. The new man under the deleterious and intoxicating influence is always in the state of mania a potu or delirium tremens in which he has lost all sense of good justice and piousness. The combined and accumulative effect of intoxicants and other seductive devices is degenerating and degrading the human psyche of the highly civilized and spiritualistic man into a “wild animal” or a “rabid dog” biting, beating, and howling on every man of society irrespective of gender.
