Can “Demonic possession” be properly documented? Proved?

We have two types of visible processes happening in our body.

Physical processes

Mental processes.(thought, feelings etc.)

Human existence has three main levels of existence and experience.

Animal level

Mental level

Spiritual level

These three levels of human consciousness are dynamic in nature i.e. of the nature of living organism to develop and evolve. Most of humans live at animalistic level of existence. It is primordial level of existence plant life and animal life wander on this level.

Animal level / the instinctive mind

It is the lowest manifestation of mind. It is revealing itself through plants, animals and man as well. The existence of animalistic or instinctive mind in man shows or confirms its evolutionary history from animal life. It is recognizes by psychologists as “subjective “or subconscious mind. It is characterized by its spontaneous activities without the aid of intellect consciousness of intellect or conscious mind or involvement of ego. The lower forms of life including plants and animas live in instinctive mind .The animals are only concerned with satisfying of primary and basic needs of their body and physical life or existence. Dr. Freud the founder of psychoanalysis calls this the id level of human existence. These are not motivated by higher pursuits of life. All their activities are nature oriented not ego oriented as in the case of man.

The ego conscious is not yet evolved in plant and animal life .what differentiates animal life from man’s life is the evolution and development of ego or individual conscious in man. This marks the revolutionary or qualitative change in the evolution of human beings. The memory of all plant and animal and even of man’s previous lives is stored in his mind as impressions/ feelings, thoughts, images and imprints. To these impressions and imprints Jung refers as “unconscious collective”. Our mind is in a way our “psychic inheritance” of million and million of years. Our body and mind did not evolve in single day but there is history of million and millions years behind these.

The thalamus and hypothalamus part of the so called old brain common to all animal life and controlling the autonomic nervous system and instinctive responses such as thirst and hunger and appetite has been thought by some scholars to be area of memories, impulses and feelings which Freud and Jung attributed to conscious an collective conscious. Jung denotes it with the symbol image and archetype of “shadow” It is very appropriate image or symbol. It is shadow or reflection of our conscious ego. It has been referred as dark side of human existence. Jung calls the contents of unconscious collective as archetypes. Archetypes have no form of their own but these act as organizing principle. The snakes, dragons, demons, bhoots are the symbol of dark side of man, or collective unconscious presenting and representing his dark side in more meaningful and tangible way.

Demoniac possession is representative of collective unconscious. Demon who has possessed the person is nothing but the image stored in his collective unconscious.

In demoniac process what happens actually is that the individual ego consciousness of the person is overwhelmed or overshadowed by his unconscious mind or contents of unconscious. Person feels as if possessed by something real. This something is “demon or evil spirit”, the primordial archetype which has no definite shape or form of its own. So the objects of possession like dragons’ demons, old dead relatives, and evil spirits are nothing but shadows of unconscious mind. These are not physical entities. These may be referred as “psychic entities”.

These are not permanent but transitory or episodic in nature. These can neither be photographed nor proved in laboratory. The field of science ends where the field of parapsychology starts. These are paranormal processes and we can only understand these with the help of psychology. Demoniac process is wonderful safety valve or defense mechanism which the mind has evolved it to save the body of disastrous effects. The person may die of heart attack if he or she does not see demons. Demon is “sudden volcanic eruption” of unconscious mind. The only way to cure this mental illness is hypnosis and energy medicine. It may also be called the projection of diseased conscious mind on unconscious mind. The conscious mind has evolved demons buried deep in his unconscious by submitting and surrendering to unconscious mind.

The rational and scientific minded individuals fixed in rationale will never see these processes even if they wish. Their reasoning in scientific thought is so strong and deep rooted that it does not allow their individual mind or ego conscious to be totally dissolved. Our ego is great barrier between spirit (God) and us. The dominant archetype of such rational people is not “shadow” but “wisdom, intellect and ego”. It is fact that demoniac process happens only with religious and mythological dominated psyche or people whose archetypal is shadow dominated. Only those persons can see or experience these paranormal processes like “demoniac processes “whose personalities are disposed to religion and mythology from birth. I have observed that in some persons the archetype of “shadow” in the forms of religion, myths, demons, and dragons is very strong. Their libido always flows in that direction. Demons fascinate them a lot.

We can prove the effects of mental processes but not the mental process itself. It is beyond the scope of science. Only parapsychology can explain or account for these paranormal processes.
